Issues
A charity committed to caring for vulnerable adults needed to train their 23 care managers in developing an understanding of and applying behavioral-based skills that would enhance the quality of care they provided for clients.
They needed practical skills that would work in the 'real-world' as they were exposed to a number of different scenarios, including volatile situations where their own safety and well being was at risk.
The charity wanted something other than a 'telling session' or psychobabble, and they needed to get a genuine return on their investment in time and money.
Solution
We developed an intensive, fun filled and interactive one-day training programme that addressed the issues the care managers were exposed to on a daily basis.
Developing rapport, changing limiting beliefs, solution focused thinking, conflict resolution, coaching and developing response-ability (the ability to respond with ability) in the people they cared for were all included. It was also essential that the care managers were able to share their thoughts and develop a more productive team-working environment. The light-hearted team building games worked wonders and opened up a new approach to mutual support and cooperation.
